Guto Bebb MP has expressed disappointment that yet again the cash machine in Conwy has run out of money. Guto made contact with HSBC after the first occasion and was assured that they were aware of what had happened and were working with the operators of the machine in Lancaster Square to ensure that this did not occur again and would be “actively managing the situation.”
Guto said, “It is astonishing that yet again positive assurances from HSBC have turned out to be nothing but empty promises. It is vital to the economy of Conwy that visitors and locals are able to get cash in the town and I fail to grasp why HSBC cannot take on board this simple point.”
Guto has raised with Nat West Bank at a senior level, the possibility of them installing a cash machine but was advised that the matter had been considered and that Nat West did not consider that there was sufficient demand. Guto is meeting with the Senior Management team at Nat West later this month and will be drawing their attention to the events of recent months and asking them to urgently reconsider their decision.
To that end if you have personal experiences that you are prepared to allow Guto to share with Nat West and other providers, please can you make contact with him by email – office@gutobebbmp.co.uk or by telephone to the Constituency Office on 01492 583094.
Guto said, “This matter must be resolved and it clear from the broken promises that we are going to have to find a solution to this issue without, at present, support from the major banks.”
