Aberconwy MP Guto Bebb has welcomed an announcement by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board that it will be running a pilot scheme to improve and maintain the health and safety of people living in residential homes in Conwy County.
In the announcement BCUHB confirmed that a Residential Home Liaison Nurse post has been created to focus on the project and Gill Jones, a community Nurse in Colwyn Bay has been appointed. Initially the scheme will include three residential homes covered by the Colwyn Bay District Nurses – two in Rhos-on-Sea and one in Colwyn Bay.
Guto Bebb said, “I am aware that this pilot scheme will initially be rolled out in Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea, however I look forward to seeing this scheme widened across Conwy County, including Aberconwy. The safety and well-being of people living in residential homes is paramount and I warmly welcome this initiative and look forward to seeing the results of these measures in the first wave in the pilot project.”
