Speaking on her appointment as Shadow Minister for Local Government, Assembly Member Janet Finch-Saunders AM/AC said “ I am delighted to have been invited once again to represent the Welsh Conservatives on the front bench of the National Assembly for Wales, following a Shadow Cabinet reshuffle earlier today.
I look forward to working with the Welsh Conservative Leader, Andrew R.T Davies and my colleagues to continue holding this stale and failing Welsh Labour Government to account.
Local Government in Wales is descending into chaos as a result of putting Welsh Labour party interests first and is now facing significant challenges. Recent Welsh Government funding cuts, coupled with talk of wholesale mergers, a collapsing collaboration agenda and other failures within this sector, mean our vital local services are under threat like never before.
Welsh Conservatives are committed to ensure that Efficiency, Transparency, Financial Probity and Democratic Accountability, are the hallmarks of any Local Authority in Wales and we will fight to ensure these guiding principles are instilled.
