Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had a fantastic afternoon at We Cycle in Llandudno Junction with local entrepreneurs, residents and community volunteers talking with Rishi Sunak about opportunities and initiatives the UK Government is supporting in North Wales.

Here's what our MP for Aberconwy, Robin Millar had to say:

My thanks to Gareth & Ewa at We Cycle for hosting the Prime Minister's visit to Llandudno Junction. It's a fabulous showroom - the largest in north Wales - with an excellent coffee shop too!

The PM met their national award winning mechanic, Dan, and heard from another mechanic how important an apprenticeship had been for him.

He then dived into meeting a group of about thirty local businesses, community groups and people making a difference from across Bangor and Aberconwy - family owned businesses, the hospitality sector, community activists, charity workers, young and old. All had only one thing in common: they are rooted and heavily invested in our local area.

There were no speeches just lots of chat. And selfies!

Thanks were offered for the "Eat Out to Help Out" initiative and praise for the furlough scheme ("We would not have survived without it"). Points were made about disability and the impact of grass roots funding such as the Shared Prosperity Fund and for local football teams.

And of course the kind of tough and direct questions about VAT and business rates you would expect from people working hard to make a living and a difference here.

Our Plan for Aberconwy is permitting business and stronger communities. So these were honest accounts of tough times and also encouraging stories of growth and lives and communities being supported.

For me it was a chance to introduce him to who I work for - you.

We have recurved £18.6 million for the Mor i'r Mynydd active travel route from Glan Conwy to Betws. And it was the PM who made the decision to ensure north Wales received £1 billion for the electrification of the North Wales mainline. I wanted him to meet and hear from people whose lives will be impacted as a result of these decisions. I only wish I could have brought more people along (another time!)

A good day for Junction.
