Virginia Crosbie wrote to the then policing minister Kit Malthouse in support of an application to the Safer Streets fund from North Wales Police and she is pleased that the Holyhead Town project has been awarded £692,149 from the UK Government to go towards projects such as 21 CCTV cameras and crime prevention packs for 250 properties to help prevent neighbourhood crime.

This money will be spent on high visibility police patrols to help tackle and prevent violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour in the night-time economy as well as towards improvements to the town's street lighting.
