Parents living along the North Wales coast from Llanfairfechan to Kinmel Bay will now have access to a Welsh Medium Nursery. Meithrinfa Gymreag Derwen Deg/ Derwen Deg Welsh Nursery will be the first nursery in North Wales to offer full-time childcare completely through Welsh thanks to a partnership between Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Menter Iaith Conwy. Derwen Deg has offered the perfect opportunity for Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Painting & Decorating and Pathways to Construction students to gain work experience on a live project.
Mike Jervis, Header of Construction at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Rhos on Sea campus, commented, “These work experience projects provide invaluable experience for our full-time students to gain “real life” industry work, where they are able to problem solve and work to industry standards.”
Aberconwy MP Guto Bebb commented, “Redecorating and refurbishing Derwen Deg is a creative way for Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s students to get hands on experience and engage with the local community. They should be applauded for their efforts.”
Gall rhieni sy’n byw ar arfordir Gogledd Cymru o Lanfairfechan i Fae Cinmel yn awr anfon eu plant i Feithrinfa Cyfrwng Cymraeg. Meithrinfa Gymraeg Derwen Deg fydd y feithrinfa gyntaf yng Nghonwy i gynnig gofal plant llawn amser yn gyfan gwbl drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, diolch i bartneriaeth rhwng Grŵp Llandrillo Menai a Menter Iaith Conwy. Mae Derwen Deg wedi rhoi cyfle gwych i fyfyrwyr o’r Adran Adeiladu gael profiad o waith go-iawn.
