Virginia Crosbie is the Member of Parliament for Ynys Môn. She was first elected at the 2019 General Election and is the first Conservative to hold the seat since Keith Best, who stood down at the 1987 General Election. Sheis dedicated to social mobility and empowering others - and securing more jobs is central to her plan for Ynys Môn.
As a maths teacher Virginia was committed to ensuring young people have the same opportunities she enjoyed. She grew up on a farm having a working class background and state school education. Virginia’s grandfather was a miner in Wales.
Following a distinguished career at GlaxoWellcome where she worked on the production of Interferon, UBS where she was one of the youngest Directors in UBS’ history and HSBC where she won awards as a leading pharmaceutical analyst, she retrained as a maths teacher.
Virginia lives with her husband, three children and Violet, the cocker spaniel, enjoying exploring and dog walks as a family.
